History: Although I loved jumping from the start, I had a bit of a slow beginning ... waking up at noon and doing a number of zoo dives with my main skill being able to quickly slide out of the way of whomever was zooming across the sky towards me. Jump 350 on September 28th, 2008, Paul asked for a bit of help with his head up flying. I wasn't quite sure why he thought I could help, but was happy to have someone to do a 2-way with. It was a pleasant surprise when we soon discovered that our fall rates and personalities were naturally compatible. I had never even considered being on a team, but when Paul asked I could hardly contain my excitement. An even bigger surprise came when Eric, who dwarfs us in flying and team experience, agreed to be our videographer. During this first year I've started getting up a bit earlier, nearly doubled my jump numbers and had privilege of learning from amazing coaches in the air and tunnel. Who would have ever thought I would become excited to be on load one or to jump in the cold?
Aspirations: I hope to continue to progress to be a well-rounded jumper in freefall as well as under canopy. Once I get the freeflying fundamentals mastered, I hope to compete in 4-way VFS in addition to 2-way freeflying. Outside of the skydiving I keep hoping that I might win big in the lottery one day (I wouldn't be stingy, I would share with my friends and family) ... then I could spend a bit more time traveling, hiking, working with dogs and of course jumping ... but maybe without having to pack for myself.
