Team Biography

Carolina Kaboom! is an intermediate 3-way freefly team from the US out of North and South Carolina. They are typically found training at their home dropzone Skydive Carolina in Chester, SC. They also train bi-monthly at the Skyventure Colorado wind tunnel in Lone Tree, CO.

It all started with Amy's willingness to help a newbie learn how to fall straight down and move around on his feet. Within a few jumps they started planning weekends around what to learn next. Suddenly they found themselves falling in front of each other and on level with less effort and that was really all it took. Sometime around the last part of November and the first of December in 2008 the team was born. The next step was to find someone willing to be the videographer for the team.

In hopes that he was well inebriated, the pair approached Eric Bobenhausen at the DZ christmas party somewhere close to midnight and asked if he would like to join them. Entertained by their antics and determination Eric finally relented. That night they became Amy, Paul and Eric Kaboom! Eric may not have known what he was getting in to at the time, but it turns out the three of them had a lot of fun.

And then there was Tommy. The team experienced a change in video flyer in late 2009. Tommy Kaboom! was born and has fit in very well with the team. Tommy was a good flyer before, but is even better now after having spent a season chasing us around.

2011 sees another change in video flyers. Connor Bost has agreed to take over flying video and the team dynamic is fantastic. KaboomRad's versatility in the air and ability to constructively critique video are huge assets in preparation for competition.
